Wood, a living material par excellence, becomes the protagonist of a fascinating and unique project in the heart of the Big Apple curated by Samantha Gore.

Autumn in New York City losing itself in the colors of the Upper West Side.

In a neighborhood of great charm and elegance, lush with its parks that change color at the first signs of autumn, beloved by business and cultural figures, this is where a colorful penthouse designed by eclectic interior designer Samantha Gore is hidden.

Project lights up with color

When a cosmopolitan and eclectic interior designer like Samantha Gore meets a wood flooring icon like Listone Giordano, the result can only be something unique. Such is the case with the Penthouse Upper West Side, an exclusive apartment in the heart of Manhattan where lights, shapes and materials come together to create a warm and relaxed environment.

Positioned in one of New York City’s most IN areas, this 400-square-foot penthouse seduces from the first glance. There is no shortage of space, light, and color in a sophisticated amalgam of clean lines, vibrant colors-loosely inspired by the Florentine Renaissance-skilfully blended, and tactile finishes to set the stage for comfortable furnishings and wraparound flooring.

Deep and vibrant saturated hues, soft textures and elegant shapes, woven fabrics and leather combine to complement the spacious living areas, dining room and adjacent kitchen. The living area is punctuated by upholstered cushions nestled along the seating set in the spacious bow wondows overlooking the city.

The Plus: A wood surface signed Listone Giordano

The wood surfaces in this apartment express elegance and attention to design through the combination of two different collections. On the one hand, the bedroom plays with the aperiodic geometry of Slide parquet born from the lateral thinking of Daniele Lago and protagonist of the Natural Genius collection, and on the other the ethereal classicism of Biancospino oak planks (slightly bleached).

In this project, Samantha Gore enhances the special features of this natural wood “carpet” that, for the first time in the world of floor coverings, gives the end user, interior designer or client the opportunity to configure the texture of their floor.

Daniele Lago invites synergy for a collection that combines geometry and mathematics by generating horizontal and vertical compositional elements. In this bedroom, it is evident that the magic of the golden ratio, which enters the figurative arts as well as mathematics, generates here endless modular compositions that are never the same.

As a counterbalance to the bedroom, for the flooring in the other rooms the choice fell on Listone 190 Oak in the delicate Biancospino color shade-an iconic piece in the Classica collection-infuses a timeless style to the rest of the rooms.
